Im haveing a problem getting my shift linkage to work ,can any one please tell me what shift linkage set up To use ,what selector rod I have to use and the whole nine yards.i have a 1998 zf tranny can any one please help this is only thing holding me up from driving will post pic.soon

Your best bet is to use the shifter set up that came out of the car that the trans is from (i.e. M3 or 328i). That will located the shifter slightly to the passenger side but it will work.
The E30 stuff may work but the shifter is very far forward (to the point where it won't work in every case). -
Use the E36 ZF shift linkage... (Carrier, selector rod) The shift lever can be from several different cars. The Z3 is ideal as it is shorter throw then the E36...
What I did was take my E30 carrier and selector rod and shorten it 3 inches, then paired it with the E39 ZF lever. Works great!Comment

i used all e36 linkage and everything, the centering of the shifter is a bit off, but i dont really care. cause now my reverse does not smack the console :)
