    e30 s50 swap over heating

I just got the head redone, and also installed a new fan clutch, thermostat, and water pump. It's still getting super hot. Any ideas what it could be?

I know this is a basic question, but always a great place to start...are you sure there are no air bubbles in the cooling system? With all those items replaced it's quite possible there is air in the system.

You need to get the front of the car jacked up, or park facing up a hill. Use the small hose that goes from the radiator to the reservoir as a bleed valve. Start the car, rev it up a bit and wait for it to start warming up. You should have the heater turned up to full hot, and the fan on all the way. As it gets hot, pull the small hose back a bit of the radiator. You will probably see bubbles. Keep doing this until you have coolant without bubbles coming out.

What temp thermostat did you use?

using an M42 radiator? I have one and its a pain in the ass to bleed. Use the top hose method to fill it up.

Using the M42 radiator makes it VERY EASY to bleed. They have a bleeder screw.

i just took it to a shop and they said it could be the water pump but its new or the thermostat but its new i bought it from them. they said im not getting go flow because the top hose is hot but the bottom is cold even when at running temp so what could it be

Hot top and cold bottom suggests that you have either a bad radiator or a bad water pump. A bad thermostat would mean a cold top hose.

i took out thermostat becasue it wouldnt open but its still getting hot i bypass the heater core becasue it was leaking but water goes through the radiator and the water pump is new and my fan clutch wont turn on. could it be my radiator because its not getting go flow because the fan clutch is new too
