Clutch Pedal dropping to floor occasionally - S52 with Getrag 260

    Hey guys

Having a problem that is puzzling me. My clutch pedal drops to the floor occasionally. Happens while driving, and while stopped. Overall it has happened about 6 times since Kylie has been on the road.

Not sure what could be causing the issue. The lines have been bled several times and we don't think it is an air bubble. Clutch pedal feel is solid, not sqishy.

The pedal can be brought back up to the top, and once it is brought back the pedal feel is solid again. Clutch is not slipping in any gear.

We are using the original 325i master cylinder with IX brake booster.

    Does anyone have any thoughts?

Brakes feel fine right? I remember you had mentioned it when we talked at Bimmerstock.

I don't recall if you said the slave was replaced... or original?

I am not one hundred percent on this but doesn't that happen when a master goes bad?

Had the exact same problem. Changed my slave cylinder and everything works great now.

Slave Cyl Most likely. MC is next in the subject lineup. Basically one of the two is bleeding down pressure. You pull the pedal up and it repressurizes until it leaks down again.

I'll probably have both replaced just to avoid running into any issues with my hydraulics. With an S52... I certainly need the brakes now more than ever!

Replace the clutch hard line, too. That was my problem, and it's better while you're in there.

Replace all the clutch hydraulics...usually when one goes the other isn't far off.

This. Replace both the slave and master. Usually when one fails the other will follow suite.

Get the steel-braided one from Blunttech. Well worth it.

HARD line. Not the rubber line. The pipe itself. It's pretty easy to replace when you are doing the master, and really annoying otherwise.
