    IAT heat soak

Did you guys have any problem with iat heat soaking at obd1 m50 intake manifold? I will be running megasquirt with map sensor.
Lot of people are having problem with hot start and idle. I really don't think it would be any problem since it is on plastic intake manifold and exhaust is on another side.
Where you would locate the iat sensor if there is heat soaking present?
I know megasquirt have iat correction but I would like to avoid the heat soaking, I would place it after intercooler to avoid hot engine bay.

are you running MS1? it's really more of a problem with tuning, and MS1 doesn't really have a way to compensate. MS2 and MS3 can be tuned around a heat soaked IAT. also, you really shouldn't have a problem in the original location, which is where I would place it.

Allright thanks, I heard obd2 iat is better than obd1? It should fix the heat soaking since its open element, should I switch to that? I want to make the overall system and tuning more reliable as I can.

Btw I will be running MS2

I did some more researching, open element is definitely less susceptible to be soaked by the heat. My goal is to have reliable system with minimal ecu corrections, I eventually will swap to obd2 or GM sensor
