    From the Euro Depot Website:

    Used, BMW e30/e36 318i M42/44 5 speed transmission
Used, BMW e30/e36 318i/is/ti, getrag 5 speed transmission. This transmission can be used on the e30m50 swap, but will only fit with the e36 325i 5 speed driveshaft. The transmission bolt to the M50 just fine
Looks like i need to find a 325i driveshaft and looks like my shift linkage is too long i bet i'll have to use an e36 one.

I know that if u are using the 240 transmission you can not use the 318is driveshaft. I know this becuase my 240 transmission is in, with the m50 and the driveshaft. The driveshaft is a couple inches to long. It sounds like the thing to do would be to get the driveshaft shortened, any one know how long a e36 325i driveshaft is? I can measure how long it needs to be.

I wonder how the euro depot knows that a 318i transmission will work. I think if they knew first hand they would mention that you need to make a transmission mount for it. I'm going to call them tomorrow.

Edit: I just bought a e36 325i driveshaft, I'll let you know if it works...

I haven't had much time with exams and then the holidays so not much has been done. I called the euro depot yesterday and the guy that answer owned a 318is that he swaped an M50 into. He told me that he used the stock 240 transmission and did NOT need a new transmission mount. When I tried to bolt the e30 transmission mount up it didn't seem to fit but I didn't really put an effort in to since I knew it wouldn't. Its also odd that on their website under the transmission that will work they do not list the 260 but do list the 240. Could this be beacuse the 260 needs a new mount and the 240 doesn't? I can't jack my car up right now because of where it is sitting but once I find out for sure if the mount will work I'll let you know. Wheh..

My transmission it sitting almost perfectly level, in other words the mounts are parrelel to the ground. Is that how the 260 looks once bolted up?

Well the e30 m3 drive shaft works length wise but the 3 bolt pattern where it connects to the transmission is built to fit the pattern on the 260/262/265 sooooo again i have an issue .Still need to find a 325i manual driveshaft until then still need to solve my driveshaft issue. I could just have my 318is drive shaft shorten to the specs of an e30 m3 or just go ahead and use my getrag 260 or try out my 262 e30 m3 tranny....we'll see
