    You need to shorten and thread the 944 booster input rod, but it is the same thread diameter and pitch as the E30 clevis.

      This, it's easy to do and a great fit for the swap.

            If you use the g240 transmission can you retain original drive shaft?

                Can't answer that for you. I'm not sure if its been done.
                Honestly I'd fork up some more cash for a stronger transmission

                        Nope, I don't think its BAR-able with all the stuff that has been deleted

                          Any reason you couldn't follow the same procedure here for the most part in doing an OBD2 M54 swap?

                          If unnecessary functions like EWS and emissions junk, etc can be deleted from the M52/S52 ECU why can't the same be done for the M54?
                          Hopefully some of the tuners like TRM and DesertBMW can comment on this...

                            are you using e28 mounts ? i'm wondering how the mount is sitting on the driver side, mine will not sit flat on the subframe, looks like the angle will not allow it !

                            let me know

                                I'm running Condor 24v UHMW mounts.
                                Not sure what your problem might be. Maybe try mounting in a different hole on the subframe?
