Full bolt on with S50 cams typically gets around 200WHP or 230 crank HP given 15% drivetrain loss. At least on the usual dynojet. That's what you'll see if you check out the e36 dyno thread on bimmerforums. But take those as you wish because different dynos can result in very different numbers.Zinno '89 <24v swap in progress>

Mine dyno'd at 231whp/182trq
Has s50 crank, m52 rods/ pistons, s50 cams, #21.5 injectors, tuned by a local place, silicone hoses, and some other small things.
It had a ridiculous 3 inch exhaust at the time of the dyno, which I'm pretty sure was helping out the high end, but the lack of back pressure was probably hurting the torque. It leans out at right around 6500 rpms. It is more or less an s50 with an 84mm bore as opposed to a 86mm. Makes it a 2.9. If you're thinking about going the way of the m50, i haven't regretted it at all. Mine ended up being pretty cheap because I got a lot of my parts from junk yards or just had them laying around. Although most people don't have s50 cranks lying around lol. If I could go back, I would probably just go straight to an S52. That will be the next engine in this car.
The really interesting thing is how the power hits in this car. Low end is pretty quick, but right around 4,200 rpms it just instantly pushes you back in the seat. Im looking but can't find that dyno file. If i do them I'll upload it.

Are you running s50/s52 cams? Because if you are then you more or less have an s50 haha. I'm sure it hauls and is fun to drive.

Bimmer Guru: Yeah 21 is probably all I need, but the 24lbs were cheaper lol. I have the twin 325is non vanos cam set up - which might be hotter than s50 cams...IDK. The thing is a beast though. I have a 2.93lsd and it still feels fast.
OP, I really like this motor. I wouldn't worry too much about putting down a ton of power in this chassis. I don't understand how people turbo these things...I'm being hypocritical because I'm open to the idea, but man, the beefed up n/v m50 is pretty awesome by itself.
I'll find my dyno file on the 17lb injectors. I do have a video, which doesn't do much, but I like the N/V M50 pride in this thread. haha
