I just bought a M52tu longblock and was wondering if I can put a single vanish head on it? And if not can I just take the internals out of it and put them in a M50?

i believe the coolant channels are different, and will not line up between m52tu block and m52/m50 single vanos heads. -

well, anything is possible. but you may just be better off selling and buying an m52b28 or something. less headaches.Comment

I have also seen people add double vanos to a single vanose engine by using the DV cams and doing a little machining on the DV unit.
I wonder If you could just swap in some M50 cams and Single vanos unit and have a aluminum block 2.8. Might be a few other parts you would have to mess with like the CPS.
I don't think there is any gain to this other then saving money on rebuilding a whole engine if you already have all the parts laying around.Comment
