Youre 24v swapping right? if you use the standard typical O.E. swap mounts youre going to have fun getting to the nut (for the stud that goes through the pin hole) with those reinforcements.
Oh and glad you trashed that other subframe. Welds look decent too!

Thanks yeah my welding skills have improved lately. I got the revshift swap mounts which I'm hoping will be a straight fit. The e28 mounts have to be twisted a bit to work? I think that subframe has been drooping for a while. I had problems with my fan kissing the bottom of the radiator.. drove me nutsLast edited by bimmer630; 12-05-2012, 05:04 PM.Comment

...And the revshift mounts are built off of the same geometry.. which sucks because I had to grind the crap out of my newly reinforced subframe just to get a socket on the nut.
Why didnt these guys just build the mounts to fit in the factory holes, if they were gonna build the mounts from scratch anyway?
I didnt take photos of the grinding I did, but basically you get the point. The Revshift mounts, just like the E28 m5 mounts, use the slotted holes which are made for the factory locating tabs on the engine mount heat shield.
Looks pretty killer.. Thats the Ebay header just mocked upComment

Oh I see why you are using the revshift mounts, because you don't have it in the car....
When the real fun begins you will be tossing those in the garbage and calling Dave for a set of mounts for $50 shipped.Originally posted by 325Projectzdon't listen to the diagram... listen to mr. swiss.Comment

I mean I've been there, done that, and it was a fail.
I don't like the mounts lack a locator tab, and Revshift advises you to "twist" the mounts to achieve the proper angles/clearances as they are offset.
My issue is I am running the ix/e32 dual chamber booster with spacer and the revshift mounts give great clearance on the headers, but eat into the booster about 10-12mm's. Me no gusta.
Also I had concerns with them moving due to the "adjustment" design.
I had my O2's bung hole moved around on my racelands to accommodate the e28 m5 mounts which give me optimal angle and booster clearance.
Some folks like the revshift mounts, and some folks fuck barnyard animals.

Hey, its legal in alot of US states haha.
But seriously, Im going to simply move my E30 booster over 1/2" and modify the clevis on the pedal.. Im hoping with that my intake will fit ok. I wasnt too interested in buying another booster.. The Ix one would be ok but I think the e21 booster option sucksComment
