    M50NV Turbo Tune Options?

Anyone has any insight (other than MS) for a tune? I am not opposed to ms3 but I am trying to see if there is other decent routes.
I plan on roughly 15lbs of boost, and 60lb injectors nothing abnormal in the build.
TRM seems like a good option, but from what I am hearing they don't have anything for the 402/403 ecu.
    Thanks for the input!

VEMS? I've heard of people liking this.

But honestly, I would suggest going MS3 and MS3x

I like the idea of MS, but I am still confused on how to do spark.
edit: VEMS is 700 for the ecu alone, a bit more than I would care to spend on JUST the ecu

You need to go stand alone and MS will be your cheapest option. No one makes a chip tune for the stock DME.

Anyone have input on what to do for the spark setup? That is were I am getting really hung up on as far as figuring out wiring goes.

Sent from the future. Or my phone, who knows.

look for 5mall5nail5 e34 on bimmerforums, it has a m50nv 2.8 with something close to 630whp, he's using MS

VEMS is more or less MS. I run MS on my current turbo M50NV, but my next build might use the factory management. You have two options for factory:

1)Use the factory (402?) DME. This can be tuned, but options are limited with the MAF... beyond 7# or so, you really need other options.
2)Convert to the 413 VANOS DME. You need new cams & a new cam sensor for this to work properly. The 413 can use larger MAFs that are available on the market.

MS isn't bad imo... it has some flaws, but with careful wiring it runs well. BTW, Jon (5mall5nail5) dumped MS a long time ago and runs the DTA S80 Pro now.

Okay so I have an m20 currently, and I am going turbo. I have the DIYPNP, and it connects to a 55 pin Bosch harness. I might be swapping a m50nv in soon because I got a crazy deal on it. Can I use that harness on the m50? Thanks. Sorry for the thread jack man. Haha

I'm sure you can adapt it with a little effort. Shouldn't take too much work.

You're going to need some explanation there. The crank sensor plugs right in, fuel injectors need light modification, the TPS should plug in or have already been modified, and I think the temp sensors plug in.

Is that seriously all I would need? That would be fantastic. I'm trying to make my harness as simple as possible, and cut all the other shit out to make it clean. About as race car as it get, except for keeping heat and windshield wipers.

It depends on what version of MS you run. If you're on an M20 now or MS2 or earlier, it's batch fire so you only need a crank, tps, coolant temp, and air temp signals + fuel injectors & spark to fire the motor. Also the main & fuel pump relays but that's more or less independent of the motor as is the wideband. If you use the e36 harness, there are a LOT of unused wires.

Well I'm using ms2 with wasted spark. So I'm thinking, just cut the shit out of the old m20 harness and make it fit the m50 engine. Deal. This should be fun. Wait. For wasted spark, do I need cam or crank sensor?
