exhaust suggestion for s50 on e30

I wasnt even thinking about the resonator... Will I be stupid annoying without one? I was planning on running a y pipe to 2.5" and no cat, and a Borla or Magnaflow single inlet/dual outlet muffler.. Im going to document the whole process and post it up here. We just got into custom stainless exhausts at the shop I work at, We did a real nice system on a 58 chevy custom truck, and two Vee dubs.. All TIG welded stainless.

With no cat and no resonator, with a 14" magnaflow muffler, yes, you will probably be annoying. I'd throw a vibrant ultra quiet resonator in the center section. It did wonders for my drone problem.

I am going to try to use an e36 Borla catback I had sitting collecting dust. Hopefully it fits ok. I love the Borla on my m52, so hopefully I will on the s50!

no sound clips but I'd say it cut my overall volume level by 20% and cut drone by at least 50%. The resonator was the difference between a headache after 5 minutes of driving and never getting headaches again. It is still too loud for my more stealthy preference but as long as it is kept below 4k rpm, heads don't turn. My setup is s38b36 headers to Y pipe, magnaflow cat, 3" pipe with vibrant U-Q res then 14" dual out magnaflow.

The only change I will make someday is a larger, quieter muffler, preferably supersprint.
