Have you guys checked the ignition coils ? Remove them from the car and check connection between ignition coil and ruber spark plug boot/"hat". Also check if there is oil or moisture in the spark plug pocket. These however usually result misfiring and fuel burning in exhaust pipe too.

I will check the coils this evening/tomorrow morning.
Ill let you guys know what I find.
As far as weather goes, mine has been sitting in the snow then drug into a 70 degree shop over and over, lots of temp changes without driving the car. Maybe some moisture got somewhere it shouldnt
Odd, I drove it to the storage shed today, and I didnt have any problems with the engine limiting. It once or twice hesitated a bit around 2500 but It didnt seem to be a big issue.
There is a direct correlation with my speedo stopping and the engine not revving.
I re-did the connection where the speedo wire meets the rear diff. I applied dielectric grease and the speedo worked fine in the rain. So did the car, no hesitation or anything.
I'm driving to work this morning and my speedo stops working, not more than a minute after that the car starts hesitating.
I noticed the speedo was intermittent. Same time the speedo stopped my car-stopped running correctly.
So with this said, Is there a speed sensor that is tied into the engine management?
The car only wants to run when the speedo works properly.

yes, the ecu needs the road speed signal from the cluster....also found at c101 for "i" cars pin 14 as addis stated. old "e" cars need the wire pulled off the cluster.
however, this should not effect the car that much. it does change the wot timing / vanos timing(so ive heard) and the idle rpm (idle drops when car stops rolling.) i had mine disconnected for a couple of days, but did not have any major adverse effects.
I've been looking for an alternator to swap in to see if it fixes my problem as it could be charging system related. This also makes sense to me as my dash lights up like a christmas tree and my speedometer doesn't work. I'm a cheapskate though so buying a new alternator doesn't sound fun to me.
I've checked my wiring so many times I'm certain everything is wired correctly. I've tested my MAF and my coils and everything is good. I've searched through the threads on here to see if someone found a good solution and everything points to either alternator/charging wiring or battery. I've tested my battery (it was new) and it is good (12.6v with car off). With the car running its between 13.4v-13.8v which is close to 14 but I think it's probably not close enough.
I'll report back once I swap the alternator to see if that is my issue.
