Finally got around taking some pictures. Apparently I mounted it without using the m42 dme mounts and with the screws that's supposed to secure the mount itself.
    I hope this helps!

I wasn't able to get enough harness into the interior to get it to mount as far over as that. I'll post pictures of my setup later.

Mine didn't reach that far either. I cut all the zipties on the harness and then I was able to stretch it far enough.

Did you pull the rubber seal/plug that is in the hole?

I didn't touch the hole at all. Took the rubber gromet out of the hole, cut the rubber boot off the harness and cut all the zipties inside the harness so I could extend it a few inches. As I can remember the connector itself was the tightest fit.

I had to enlarge the hole slightly too, and it fits in the bracket like ass even upside down/backwards

yeah when i try to jam it through with all the rubber and everything removed it like grinds up against the plastic where the pins go through and i dont want to damage my connector..

im thinking about cutting two slits on the side of the hole and bending back the metal to get more clearance, then folding it back and tack welding it.

That connector isn't that fragile but maybe the hole on yours is smaller. What year is it?

I don't think you need to be that drastic with enlarging that hole. Wouldn't it be easier to just grab a file and make the hole a 'D' shape so the side of the connector where the pins are have a bit more space to fit through? My
