    Flywheel removal?

    Any tips on how to take the flywheel off? The bolts are very thight and the crankshaft turns. the engines is on a hoist and i need to install it on the engine stand

    I boughtt a flywheel stopper from some vw website for like 13 dollars.
    Vintage VW Parts, Classic Volkswagen Parts, VW Bug Parts, VW Beetle Parts, and VW Bus Parts.

      I've never had any problems with that when using an air impact wrench...

        hit your rachet with a 5lb mallet or hammer
        should do the trick

          I put a breaker bar on the front of the crank and let it stop against the ground. If you are facing the front of the engine, it should be sitting down on the right side.

                don't do this if you value your ratchets. Use a wrench or breaker bar instead.

                  didnt notice i was in the wrong section. i used it on a m20 but i put it on were one of the trans bolts goes thru.
