IMO:the stock M20 PP has plenty of clamping force, even for a hot S50/52. What it doesn't have are robust PP straps. 7K kills the straps, not the clutch material.

I believe there's a place that can add PP straps to a standard PP. I swear it was Southbend Clutches...but could be wrong. It's what I was about to a few years ago, but went with the Clutchmasters kit instead. No problems after that!

VIR owns 2 of my stock M20 PP's.

    No more after Clutchmasters.

I have a clutchmasters m20 unit. The modify a sachs PP by adding more straps at each location. There are 4 straps instead of what i believe to be 2. I guess the problem is "stock" m20 clutches

Used aluminum m50 flywheels are cheap.

                minor bump here...

                I'm changing from M50 >S52
Current set up is M20 SM FW / M20 PP/Disc
M20 set up is new w/about 2K miles. so not ready to change to240mm FW
                (no FW with S52)
This is pretty much a DD with some occasional 'excess'
I would like to end up with a bit of a cushion the upside of torque rating for S52= 240+- ft/lb.
                have searched & researched etc
What is the ft/lb torque rating for the stk m20 2.5 PP/disc. ?
                M3 '618'. = ?
                Cluch Mater Stage 1?
                South Bend?

Thanks for your comments about usage road, drift etc for M20 PP. Would like to get this done first time. I hate removing trans ! TIA

I ran ~215whp through the M20 stock setup for 14K miles just fine. The PP straps were the weak point. Stock M52/S52 clutch/fw setup will hold anything you can throw at them NA.
