For some reason I missed that... I can't imagine having a shop do this.
But really to OP: labor per hour at most shops around me ranges from $75-$90 per hour so think about how long the quicker 24v swap threads take to finish then factor those things together. Labor is going to suck.

Ya at 16 I had 24v dreams too, and finally did it now years later. If you have the space, resources, help, time, I say give it a go yourself. The money involved in getting a shop to do it usually ends up being quite a bit, and if they haven't done it before it can be a nightmare too. Make a full plan of attack before, and if you're smart you can probably pull it off without too much expense. There's lots of help on hereComment

I agree with what was said above completely. I contemplated going 24v when I first got my second E30 at 17 and now at 19 I'm finally pulling the trigger on going 24v.Ya at 16 I had 24v dreams too, and finally did it now years later. I recommend dicking around with M20's until your experience level goes up a bit. M20's have great power for any teenager. Just learn with what you have and research 24v swaps so when the time comes that you feel comfortable doing the swap that you'll know enough to not get stuck.
