    ZF questions

What kinda flywheel is on the stock M3 with the ZF? single or dual mass? I have an E34 dual mass and I think an M3 clutch kit (spec stage 4 unsprung). The M50 slave was a bitch to get in and the last time I used it (I think it was the M50 slave) the clutch was always partially disengaged and would cause the clutch to slip on accel. IIRC the M20 slave was too short and would spit out the plunger.

    thoughts?

Maybe the M3 one is thinner? anyone got a picture of it? I'll have to google around too.

Weird. I have a ZF and have used a stock M3 flywheel and had no problems with either an M50 or S50 slave cylinder.

I had to jam the slave cylinder in REALLY hard to get it to fit. Makes me think it's partially engaging.

Huh... this is odd. So I looked up a 90/6 E34 on real oem. I picked the M50 engine. This is what I get for the clutch system:
            http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...54&hg=21&fg=10

The slave part number gives me the M20 slave: http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...-1-158-677-M33

You can click around on realoem and it def shows everything else with the M50. Even a 91/04 E34 gives the same slave. I'm guessing the M20 slave is the correct answer. Is pelicanparts wrong in their naming of the slave? Weird!

The M20 slave hyper extended and shot out. The part number in the link above points to the M3 type slave but the picture is of an M20 one. WTF?

Dont go by the pictures. M20 slave will not work.

well I figured that part out. But I'm fairly sure the M50 one won't work. So wtf?

Youve got something going on with the stack up height of your clutch/fw/tob/clutch fork. Something is too tall/in backwards.

E34 dual mass, M3 clutch kit. Unless the E34 dual mass is thicker than the stock E36 M3 dual mass.

^Never seen a 'real' e34 dual mass fw so i couldnt tell you there. You put the TOB in backwards? I know itd be an epic fail but ive seen it done before.

Nope. def not. This isn't the first time this has happened to me. I used this same combo 3 years ago. I simply forget how/if I fixed it.

Can you use an M20 single mass/clutch/TO bearing and the M50 slave? I have a single mass and spec stage 5 of one of those lying around.

From what I can tell, the TO bearing was cocked off when it was put in. M50 slave works and bled right. *sigh* all that over not checking the TO bearing alignment. Thanks for the help

How are you using an E34 dual mass flywheel with an M3 clutch kit? The E34 525 uses a 228mm clutch and the E36 M3 (no matter which) uses a 240mm clutch.
