    Charcoal Canister Connnection?

Probably a dumb question, but I want to keep my charcoal canister and I don't know how people have been connecting it to the intake. I know the m20 had a valve to manage the flow of the vapors into the intake. What has everyone done? I don't want to vent it straight into the manifold without a m20 type valve. Is everyone just letting the charcoal canister vent into the engine bay and not connecting it to the manifold/TB? Its an OBD2 s52 with OBD2 intake manifold. Pics for clicks...

i believe you can use your stock vent valve unless the obd2 harness uses a different connector. i wouldnt know as im using an obd1 vent valve and obd1 e34 engine harness, which do use the same style connector as my stock setup did. i flipped the canister bracket to move it closer to the front of the car to make room for something down there and hooked it up to the port on the bottom of the throttle body. the other 2 ports down there are just left open as i deleted the coolant hoses for the throttle body heater. the valve is just inline from the outlet on the canister to the throttle body connection. can probably take a pic sometime if youd like.

actually on second thought i believe the vent valve im using is obd2 as well, as my s52 is from a 98 m3 and i think i used the one that came with the engine

The e30 valve will work, they are all basically the same.
