this black box, does it serve any good use? my car is used on the track so the more stuff I get remove the better. A wire from the ignition switch goes to it. the 2nd green wire goes from the box to pin 7 on c101. thats ignition switch to DME. can I just solder the two wires together or do they need the box?

I am asking hear becuase my car has an M52b28 swap.

Looks like an OBC relay box. You can remove it if you don't use OBC. Yes, you need to connect together two green wires on the other side of the white plug otherwise your car won't start.

it's the ignition lockout OBC Code thingy. you don't really need it and i don't think it works with a swap anyway. it's pretty trivial to defeat too, all you gotta do is unplug the car's battery and the code resets..

OBC will report wrong mileage in a 24V swapped car, but the security lockout is a different function and it actually does work if wired correctly. Defeating it is another story though. :D
