    m52 oil pan removal

I was wondering if there are any tricks or what you have to do to remove the oil pan. Someone said remove the trans but I'm just making sure. Thanks

    unbolt engine mounts
use an engine hoist to lift engine
    remove all oil pan bolts
    remove oil pan.

sounds simple but doesn't always work out that way hahaha

Alright thanks a lot. I'm guessing a car lift would make this a much easier process

If you have a G260 (E30 325i/iS trans) you will need to pull it out to access the rear bolts.

        Keep it slideways!!

unless holes were made in the bellhousing to reach the bolts.

Yea I have a 260 but I need to replace it anyways so it's coming out already. Next weekend I'm getting her up on a lift and replacing my trans and pan gasket

Sounds like fun eh? Make sure you have a good impact and long ass extensions with flex joints for re top bell housing bolts. Breaker bar works sometimes too.
