Dont think that is completely true. The one that was in there was cut and welded. I'm pretty sure that the standard g260 linkaged needs to be altered.

Explain, please.
A.) I don;t care to grind mass amounts of AL from my oil pan to clear a single mass fly that will only engage hard and twitchy
B.) Don;t care for input shaft bearing rattle, brought on by single mass fly's
C.) You want me to use just the 4 big bolts on the tranny...Mmmkay.
D.) You get to retain your smaller/weaker driveshaft setup and smaller guibo!
That's awesome bro.
E.) custom DSSR? or cut & weld/heat and twist shifter and hope it sits straight in the console, or rinse and repeat. Lame....
F.)No guesswork on whether the starter will engage and spin freely when using all 24V parts. Sucks to think you are done go to crank the motor and find out you used the wrong starter/fly/ or didnt grind off enough material from the e34 pan and it's binding or rubbing.
Now go pull that shit out and start over.Originally posted by 325Projectzdon't listen to the diagram... listen to mr. swiss.

A)shaving down a flywheel isint that hard. Nor is excess material on the back of the oil pan.
B)Any single mass flywheel will make any Trans input shaft rattle .who in the name of fuck uses a dual mass flywheel on a 24 valve swap? You would have to be retarded.
C)Nobody ever in the existence of man kind has ever had a problem using 4 bolts to hold a transmission in .its not like the power of an S52 is gonna shear all 4 bolts and Send the transmission flying through the passenger compartment.
D)nobody ever has had an e30 driveshaft break on them. The smaller Guibos only suck if you buy some Terrivle URO/China Guibo.
E)I kinda agree with the shifter linkage part. That's actually why I decided to retain the ZF transmission in my swap. Even still it sits a bit too fat right.
F)there is no guesswork unless your a moron. Use the starter that went with the flywheel/ Trans . Done EASY NO PROBLEM . It's not Rocket surgery.
I'm not at all a g260 advocate . But if mine didn't have 300k on it I probably would of used it with my s50 . I'm using a ZF and I liked the fact that it all bolted together correctly and no funny fuck around . But I didn't like that sourcing a driveshaft took me forever (ended up using an e30 m3 one) and because I'm a cheap bastard like most of R3v , I didn't like having to spend $450 on a clutch/flywheel setup to get rid of that terrible dual mass .
Oh and that aluminum shift linkage part costs $30 new from BMW1985 325e M50TU(Sold)

So we should all run transmissions that give us ridiculously short gearing? mmkay.
Definitely would rather run my nice quiet G260 over an unknown ZF320. Don't even mention the G250.
Don't feel like searching for an S3.25 diff, which will probably come from over a thousand miles away, and may or may not be as quiet/functional as advertised.
If something does happen to my G260, I'd swap in any of the other 3 RWD g260s I have. They're a dime a dozen.
Lightened single mass flywheel. Need I say more?
The bolt situation is mildly annoying at the worst, but I agree that the shifter crap is stupid. If you really care, there are options out there that cost less than buying a used diff.Originally posted by priapismMy girl don't know shit, but she bakes a mean cupcake.Originally posted by shamesonUsually it's best not to know how much money you have into your e30

B.) BMW used a dual mass as do I, we are retarded I guess.
C.) That's a pretty quantitative statement without supporting facts. I'm not going to dig for threads on guys talking about having bolts back out on the G260's.*
D.)Another quantitative statement without supporting facts. I have shredded a small guibo myself on a M50/g250. Why dog the bigger better part? Cuz it's an upgrade? okay.
F.) Well there are obviously plenty since I read the what starter fly for my swap thread once a month at least.
G.) I never even mentioned the custom bracket and how much rougher the ride is with a G260 and e21 mounts vs e36 tranny( g250/zf320) with e36 trans mounts.
