So I got my M50 wired up using AKG's diagram. The motor turns over like it should, but thats about it. I used a volt meter, and I dont have any spark, fuel pump isnt kicking on, and injectors arent firing. So im pretty much screwed. I almost think it could be a fried ECM, just because im getting nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions before I start spending money?

I have a whole thread about it but yeah your engine and ECU are probably not ground properly. Also check to make sure you have the right relays plugged where they belong . the harness i got had a 5 prong in a 4 prong connector ,means that thing aint working.
I didnt get any spark from my coils until i ran a ground wire from a coil a the strut tower.

Thats a good call-
if the ecu doesnt sense spark, it wont fuel, and vise-versa.
Also check to make sure the ecu is getting power, and is being grounded properly.
It sounds to me like its a problem dealing with the power to you ecu.

Alright. I rewired my motor using addissimo's chart. (I heard someone say they went by AKG's wiring and it worked, but it seemed a little off to me) Anyways I rewired it and still the same results. I havent checked everything with a volt meter yet. I am getting 1.8 volts to the ECM at this point. So am I correct in thinking, if even one coil is not grounded properly than the ECM will not trigger the fuel pump? I'll keep wrenchin and maby someone has other suggestions.Follow me @baysidefabrication on Instagram

the dme wont operate with 1.8 volts...
you need 12 of those volt thingies.
I'm assuming that pin 6 & 7 are what you're using to determine how much power you're getting to the ecm?
pins 6 & 7 need to be at 12v.
which wiring harness are you using?

I am using a e36 harness. I left the garage for the night, and will get a fresh start tomorrow. Addissimo, thanks for all youre info so far, its been a real big help. I will check again the ecu voltage tomorrow evening now that I re-wired it and got a little better idea of what the problem may be. Thanks again, BenFollow me @baysidefabrication on Instagram

Just called my buddy who sold me the harness and ecu. It is a 413. I am working on the car now, and still no good results. So this is where im at.
-All relays are working and getting power.
-Coils are getting a constant 12 in one pin, but when turned over nothing in any other pins.
-ECU is getting a full 12
-I have grounded the coils to the strut tower
-injectors arent getting any powerFollow me @baysidefabrication on Instagram

Check to see if you are getting power to your fuel pump just for shits and giggles. If not then check your relays and make sure they are in the right spots the bentley manual has a section for electrical ground wires and power supplys.
Also if you have a car with airbag you may want to check your crash sensors the orange sensor pulggins in the engine bay ,if you disconnected them and these are not hooked up the car will think it is in an accident and immobilize.
