Sooo... my x20 plug has not got pin 8

so Ive been tackling this x20 > c101 plug adapter for my m50. Ive had a look at the wiring diagrams on

and have a few of other peoples pin-out diagrams to compare with. For example

so pin 8 on x20 is the engine check light and the x20 i have has a blank plastic rather than a pin. The car its going into is a 1988 PFL e30 320i. The x20 is from an e34 1995 (where I got the motor from).

just wondering if there is something I'm missing. Thanks for your time!!

euro cars often have no CEL. not a big deal to leave out if your don't have it anyway.

Another inquiry if i may, there is a +12v wire on the x20 on pin 3(red). Does it need to go anywhere? Or could it be used to power the 3 relays that come with the m50 motor.

relay power will generally come from a post that goes to the battery terminal, not through the X20. you usually match wires that go to the C101, not the X20, because the X20 has a lot of pins that you don't need.
