Exhaust a bit too loud (maybe wrong sub-forum?)

Hey guys so as the title says my s52's exhaust is a bit too loud as is, I love the sound (tone) it makes and wouldn't mind the loudness, but sadly I share the road with cops and don't want to attract attention.
It's not very loud when you are cruising, but when any gas is given its loud. When you go WOT its bat shit insane. It's hard to start out quietly.

The best vid I have of it ATM

I need to bring the dB's down a bit, quite a bit. So here is my current setup...

    Stock OB2 exhaust manifolds -> 2 2 1/2'' piping -> 2 2 1/2" in 3" out Y-pipe -> 3" piping -> 3" in/out Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator ->3" piping -> 3" in/ dual out Vibrant Stealthpower Muffler

I'm not sure what I should add.

    Another Vibrant Ultra quiet resonator?

Or a more traditional longer resonator?

A muffler like this? (don't think this would do enough) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vibrant-1769...2ba818&vxp=mtr

    A magnaflow glass pack?

I'm leaning more towards an additional resonator, probably the longer vibrant one.

    What do you guys think?

      Orgasmic? haha

The reason I like resonators over mufflers is that I believe they are quite a bit lighter, but probably don't deaden the sound as much as a muffler.

I'm assuming that muffler is a straight through design. Get a traditional style non performance muffler.

Well I'm definitely not changing the rear muffler now. So I have to add something on.

Do you have a cat? If you don't want to change mufflers, perhaps switch the UQ res for a traditional muffler in the middle that is not straight through. If you have any straight pipe longer than 18", I'd try a regular tube type resonator like that vibrant one only longer. My understanding is they are only helpful if 18"+ otherwise you'd be better of with another UQ.

No cat. I wanted to add a high flow, but they don't sell to CA.

Well I'd rather not take things off that are already on, like i mentioned above. I mean if I have to I guess I will.

I'll get under there now and see if I have room for a long bottle type resonator.

If not, you're saying add another UQ res?

Regardless of the combo of straight through mufflers and resonators you have, a 3" pipe is going to be on the loud side at WOT. Your best option for serious db reduction is a non-straight through muffler either in the center or swap out the rear. I don't think adding another UQ or bottle type res will be a significant help, maybe reduce a few more high frequency waves but overall db might only reduce a further 5-10%. If you really want quiet, put a big baffled magnaflow or borla xs where the UQ res is.

Well I don't mind the loudness at WOT as much as I do the loudness during normal acceleration. 5-10% reduction would probably be enough, I don't want quiet per say, just more quiet than it is.

It looks like a 22" bottle resonator might fit in one section before the muffler and after the UQ res.

I think this vibrant res will be sufficient then. I just went from a 14" magnaflow straight through to a 18" and just those 4 extra inches (160 sq in) dropped my db by 5-10%. I don't have experience with tube resonators though so you may want to get more opinions than mine or call vibrant and ask which is more effective as a second res.

Yeah, I'm thinking that one should do the trick. The 22" should fit, but I might just go with the 18". Sucks my exhaust is quite low and that will make it even lower in one of the lowest spots, can't do much about that though.

I might have to go talk to my exhaust guy to see what would be easier/better. It looks like another ultraquiet res will fit next to the existing one with some modification.
                      I appreciate your input! Thanks!

You think if I can get a high flow cat shipped here that would be just as effective or more effective at bringing the noise down?

Louder than the turbo setup I was running?? It can't be as loud as the ls1 cops break their necks every time they go past me haha

Umm can't remember, the turbo was loud though!

Luckily I haven't been around many cops (knock on wood), but it would should grab their attention.

It's quiet while cruising at lower speeds, but if I have to stop and start out again, I'm done for
