So will I LOVE it or HATE it? Exhaust layout question (REMUS, catless, 2.5"...)

DISCLAIMER:...I searched and read a TON!

I'm pretty close to fitting my S50 to my E30 (http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=280190) and am starting to think about how I want to sort out my exhaust...

So with that said I'm THINKING the following:

- Headers: eBay reps. Seem decent quality wise, fit well. Possibly a little thin walled?

- Cats: CATLESS (Thank you SC...)

- Resonator/Middle Muffler: Large Vibrant or similar

- Rear Muffler: Remus single in dual out ($14 LKQ score!)

- Piping: 2.5"

I'm thinking of a pretty basic setup where I essentially run a y-pipe off the headers to 2.5" single pipe, then a removable flange to the resonator and then the muffler out back.

From what I've read the Remus is pretty tame as it isn't as aggressive as some straight though designs. I just haven't seen many Remus type setups.

So will I LOVE it or HATE it? Any other tips for anything inline?

My first setup was basically that, with a 18" vibrant resonator and magnaflow 12185 (I think, same specs as yours) and it is pretty loud, right on the border of too loud lol. But I loved every second of it!

Nice to hear! I had a Remus a while back on a 300CE MB (boo...) and LOVED it. Very distinct sound.

Yeah that is kind of what I'm thinking. As long as it doesn't drone too much or get me in trouble with the law I don't mind it being somewhat loud. I believe that the Remus is a bit quieter than the straight through Magnaflows as well so hopefully that will cut some db's

Im not sure how its going to sound with a 24v but I have a similar set up on my 327i.

stock eta downpipes to a blown aftermarket cat and 2" straight to a single inlet dual tipped remus muffler. Sounds great! Loud

Nice! Yeah I anticipate that it will be pretty loud. All of my other cars have been somewhat loud so I'm used to it and have high expectations! Haha

Ive got basically the same setup and it sounds perfect. Not too loud, not too quiet. When cruising it sounds tame, when WOT it sounds mean.

I have close to the same set up. Except I have a cat, but it sounds great. Pretty calm till WOT. I love it.
