i'm confident in the s52 because the power/weight works out to be a touch better than the honda s2000, which i am familiar with and believe to be a fast car.

the e30 will be rougher and have more torque and less tire, so it should feel even faster (note: emphasis on feel)

no care to "prove my internet worth" as an e30 enthusiast - but no I've had many a e30's, own two now -and my opinion stands. Just because you don't agree doesn't make me a non active enthusiast - and justifies your assumption and your categorization. True - my e30 can womp an s2k w raw power, but excitement on a twisty road w similar quality suspension/tires - well maybe you've never owned one.. or many other quick cars because you're the self righteous, all knowing "active enthusiast."

way to point fingers make this forum/scene so amazingly cool.

The "added" weight you guys are talking about is so miniscule that it's not worth mentioning. I removed AC/Condensor/Windshield Wiper fluid tank and the engine is as far back as possible. Combined with BC Coilovers with -2.5" Camber all around handles great. A set of coils on a corner balanced car will handle insanely on an e30 whether it's 24v swapped or not. People just don't want to shell out the money to get a proper functioning car.

the same suspension perfectly corner weighted for M20 is WRONG for 24V............... most of r3v likely does not understand the principal or reasoning to spend so much on an alignment

I didn't mean the same setup as most of them never had it during the m20 anyway. 75% of r3v uses coils just to go low, hence why JOM and Racelands are so popular.

Not worth bringing out the e30 to a public street; id have to wear a helmet to prevent getting a concussion. I'd also have to wear a HANS lol rofl

If you want to come try chasing it on track ill invite some r3v folks to the next shakedown open day befote thill sept.

Usually weekends I can be found on hwy 9 backside. Woodside is too hot on police for my liking

A rental car is also great on rough roads; e30 is pretty poor on traction if too low.

Ours somehow magically can pass 2 wheels off track at Buttonwillow in the slalom or talledega on the outside. ....with outside tires on dirt.... managed to run a 2:15 in severe traffic on practice tires :)

oh i know. the s2000 has two decades of chassis engineering over the e30. but for a street car/daily driven at 7/10's, the e30 will feel just as fast, if not faster.

and the s52 is too heavy/long.. a k20/k24 high compression frankenmotor in s2000 would be tits. actually, a k20/k24 in an e30 would be awesome..

that is being remedied already, my car no longer rubs after i took off the spacers, Spencer is going back down to 215/40/17 soft tires. i dont seem to remember any1 being behind me when i was doing 120 through the shasta mountains..

wheel hop would probably eat you alive with sheer chassis ability .....with his grocery machine :P

if you think your frakenmachine is setup properly; take it to Laguna Seca. If you can pull close to a 1:50 it is well tuned; Mountain does not mean anything; its simply shakedown and practice for the real thing.

thinkin about running with City Auto Tech @ Laguna 9/13. But wont be in my e30, suspension is not dialed in on my car. Going to try and get SSchin to bring out the s52 e30 i just finished building with him, hes got waaaaay better suspension than me. Never ran Laguna, would be fun to give it a go-around.
