Yeah I was keeping track of everything I needed for the swap, and had his harness service in excel document for $360 maybe last month.
    ...looking for other alternatives now.

Anyone know if AKG's S50 adapter works on S52s?

I got mine for my s50 swap from this member and it was shipped fast and worked perfectly. I will likely buy from again for my next swap.

just make your own. it will cost you about $50. get really comfortable with the E30 and E36 ETM. Many of the wires are 1:1 by color.

I would just pin a C101 on the E36 harness rather than use an adapter. so much cleaner.

Just to chime in here, the recent price increase was to follow supply/demand/the market as well as issues with follow up calls and tech support. In many cases we do a harness/ecu combo for someone and they have issues getting their swap up and going. They call us and we spend countless hours on the phone helping them get their swap figured out only to realize that the issue wasnt ever with the harness mod/ecu but on their end. Again we dont mind doing this but it is very time consuming and frustrating at times when people are hard set on a harness issue. I again dont mind helping people/the community with issues (thus my tons of posts in this board helping people) but when Im haulted from trying to do stuff at the shop or even get other peoples harnesses out the door to spend an hour or two with each person weve sent a harness to, to help them sort out issues with their swap we have to account for that.

And again Im AFAIK the only person repinning harnesses fully and properly for every E30 model (to toot my own horn ;))

The TRE adapter will work in 99% of instances but ADS port and ABS functionality are lost typically from what ive seen and no full support is given for <87' cars.

Ive considered making adapters (cheaper) but honestly dislike the bulkiness/cleanliness of it although there is obviously the demand for a cheaper 'off the shelf' alternative.

Knock on wood, i have yet to have an actual issue with a harness sent out. And if the day comes that i do have an issue i will be there to resolve it unconditionally.

I again appreciate and value each and every customer ive connected with through here or other means. Thanks guys.

              I'm glad that you did.

Just to be clear, I in no way feel that your prices are out of line. The only thing I was saying is that the harness was a little out of the budget of the couple of people that I'm trying to help with their swaps. I'm sure you know the story - someone thinks that they can do the swap for for very little money, then 20 other things they hadn't considered pop up, and the budget is already blown. That's the situation that prompted me to post here in the first place.

Regarding the adapters being bulky: yep, they sure are. I am very happy with the work that ErikT did on mine, but at some point I will get the tools and I'll re-pin my connector to clean up they bay. As you said, there is a market for those adapters; what that would do to the sale of your completed harnesses, I do not know.

Finally, I appreciate the support that vendors such as yourself offer the E30 community. Thank you for doing so!

And I just ordered one of your coolant temp sensors for my S52 OBD1 car a few days ago. :)

                Is it for a 318is?

I can make adapters but the oil level sensor is a pain in the ass.

                      Thanks man!

I'll have to think about it. I have the supplies, maybe i could make a small batch of them.

I'd prefer to do a basic, no frills adapter, like this one i did a few years ago:

I want to say it was between $150-200.

Would that allow the MPG function & the oil light to be operational? Cruise control?

Yes, this one doesnt have the oil level sensor because its a 318is. Everything continues to work. You need a convertor for the mpg gauge to be accurate though.

E30 cruise control is run separately from the engine, so it will still work.

Yeah get up with 328ijunkie, his product is definatley superior. Super nice guy and price might be "high" but you get what you pay for it will be right the first time. He did my harness and it was perfect.
