    It's Alive!

Just got my OBD1 s52 swap running last night.

Much more to come. Still have to modify my shift linkage, and attach my driveshaft, but it is so close. Can't wait for the first drive.

This is my largest project to date. I knew almost nothing about cars before buying my first e30 2 years ago. Now I have a running s52 swap! Words cannot describe my excitement.

yours is the first one ive ever seen just start right up, most have to go through trying to crank for almost a minute then success when it finally turns over. GREAT JOB! seems to be all down hill.
hell idk sometimes you just have to wing it. JW

Thanks everyone! I am sure the first drive is going to be intense. I have never owned anything with over 120hp haha.

I was hoping to be able to rip it around the block this weekend, but it doesn't look like I will be able to source driveshaft hardware in time (special order item). All the bolts at the local hardware store have a shorter shoulder length than the OE ones. I'm thinking the driveshaft is something you want fitment to be exact.

Has anyone had luck with generic grade 8 hardware? The bolts stocked by True Value have the threaded section extending into the guibo sleeve. That is not the case with the stock bolts.

Better yet. Does anyone know of shops that keep small guibo hardware around? Maybe I will try Guten, or one of the other e30 service shops.
