    e30 m52b28 swap..Driveshaft questions..??

    I am doing a swap on my 91 318i.

Engine is out of a 328i and im using a g220 for my transmission. Im running a 3.73 diff in the back.. I thought a 325i driveshaft would work from what ive read? I measured from flange to flange and looks like im getting 59 inches give or take 1/4 inch..

The driveshaft I have came out of a 99 323is..Measures right at 59 inches. i dont have enough room for flex disc.

which driveshaft should i use? or am i missing something?

Getrag 220 is same as 250, looks like. So you may have 318i driveshaft, it will fit 323i but it will be too long for E30.

I got everything from 1995 325i and driveshaft barely has some slack, like 1/4 inch

You may get away with it, if you don't use that dust nut

What do you mean I may have a 318i driveshaft? Thats what came out of the car before I did the swap...So I have a 318i driveshaft and a 99 323is driveshaft.

They both are too big from what I can tell. Anyone know what would fit for a 59inch gap between flange to flange??

Any help is much appreciated..The drive shaft and wiring is all I have left for the swap.

Anybody got any ideas? Do I need to start measuring drive shafts to figure out my options? or am I missing something?

Well that's the problem. Measure it, totally compressed from one flange to the other, whats the exact measurement in metric?

Ok So I swapped back in my g240 transmission. My original 318 driveshaft wont even fit. Im like 2 inches to long.. What gives? I finally got the car cranked last night but cant drive the damn thing..

I see everyone basically using e36 manual drive shafts or even e30.. I almost need like an automatic drive shaft.

                Any input would be appreciated!!
