Swap fires up right away, but is only showing 10psi at idle (cold start) according to the gauge. I also have a massive oil leak coming from the back of the engine. Motor was pulled and a new rear main seal was installed. Everything else on the back of the motor was verified to be good working order, but after reassembly, same result.
I am suspicous of the oil pump, because it didnt initially fit perfect and I had to enlarge the third bolt hole (the one not associated with the dowels). I was able to install it, but have always felt it was kinda sketch. The mechanic working on it isnt really convinced its the pump. I'm not either, but I cant think of anything else it could be. The pump is a used one from a E34 M50 car, motor is a Z3 M52.
Mechanic is wondering if the oil galleries are obstructed, but this is a rebuilt motor and the block was cleaned several times before it got back to me.We're worried that we need to pull the motor again and replace the oil pump and still get the same result...
