    M50B25 out...S50B30 in?

    Hey guys;

    I did an M50 swap with the help of a pile of guys on here, but I just had an S52 and S50 come up locally for very cheap. Is the S50 a straight swap for my M50? I can't think of much else I have to do to put that bad boy in there, other than tightening bolts.

    Yes, it is. You will probably want to use an S50 chip if you are keeping the same ECU though. The only difference between an S50 and M50 is the bore/stroke and cams.

      Is the S52 worth the extra time if they're 500$ difference? (and come complete with all accessories)

        the only time would be swapping over the sensors/manifold that you already have.

        if it's similar mileage and has good leakdown numbers, i'd pay $500 extra. .2 liters extra, why not?

          I like how even BMW calls the US "///M" engins just M50B30/M52B32.
