    Where do these wires go?

First off lets start with the picture. That power cable goes straight through the S50 wiring harness and this pic is where it comes out on the drivers side. Where do I connect it?

There are two wires that reach from the fuse box straight across the firewall, those go to the power block terminal, right?

Finally there are three wires on the passenger side of the S50 harness, two of them are power wires and one is a ground. The two power wires go to the battery power block too? That would make 4 wires from the engine bay that go to the power block, plus the thick ass battery cable, plus the one that comes through the firewall?

If I get all these correct my wiring is complete, car should start up on saturday, thanks in advance guys

Hmmm, my car has the 2 coming from the passenger side firewall (battery cable and another small one), the big one going to the starter, and 2 more from the harness, plus one ground from the harness. It could be a difference in years? Either way, bust out a multimeter and check them.

on the 325's, the battery has 2 wires going to the power block. the small one from the battery gets connected to the two red wires on the isolated part of the power block.

sounds right. small from chassis battery to isolation block. large from power block to starter / alt. two small from isolation. harness grounded to strut tower.

fire it up on saturday. cheers, jason

but you told me this wire goes to the starter, the one that I thought was a ground, check this thread here:

that is why I'm confused...you'll see on saturday I guess Jason

starter wire.....alternator wire....eh, same thing. they both get spliced together within the e36 wire box and go to the power block. one is short (starter) one is long (alternator.)

i have not seen the wire wrap on the alternator wire though. it would be hard to fish it through the rubber boot.

          cheers, jason
