Dudes, what's the deal with getting the mains line bored if using ARP MSK?
20ftlb, crank turns fine.
40ftlb, crank turns ok
50ftlb, crank needs some effort to get it moving.
60ftlb, forget it.
Why so fricken high TQ with these things anyway? Stock M20 bolts are 60nm, M50 is angle tight. But they use the same bearings and all....
Update...
I took the crank out and it has rubbed the bearing shells right from where the oil hole is (weakest point in the block structure in this area), and also has a corresponding rub 180 opposite in the cap.
This says to me that the block is being distorted by the mega clamp load from the ARP MSK.
The crank journals are within stock spec, the bearings a std Glyco, checked.
