    Clutch or Electric Fan

My clutch fan is starting to make some strange noise so I am playing with the idea of replacing it with a custom shroud and electric fan.

I have been reading through the threads and notice more individual going with the electric fan. My queries…

    Will the stock alternator do?
    Who for the custom shroud?
    Advantages of electric fan?

The stock alternator will be fine

I dont think anyone uses a fan shroud, I never used one.

Advantages? I guess it takes weight off the crank, but its done mostly for clearence between the engine and radiator.

You can see on my car I have two 10" fans mounted on the front, probably overkill, but hey, thats what I like :)

Sorry for the crappy pic, apparently I never took pics of the fans installed.

I also removed fan and fan clutch. Apparently its a lot better for taking weight off crank as stated above, and you can control when its on/off if need be. Does the job well, not hard to install and it was cheaper than buying a new fan clutch.

There are a lot of electric fans on eBay that can be had for cheap. Check out the one that I got: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ADME:B:EF:US:1
