    Extended o2 sensors

Where can I purchase longer wire o2 sensors? Can I extend a o2 sensor with wires and crimps or solder. I know the resistance would be altered due to longer wire but could that be a noticeable difference? Reason is one of o2 bungs is farther down the exhaust :/

    -thanks

I spliced one of mine to make it longer, used the sensor and wire from one and the plug and wire from another. I think the impact on resistance would be very minimal as long as you had a good connection at the splice. So far no problems.

Keep in mind the sensor needs to be hot to work properly. If for no other reason, I wouldn't want to extend beyond the intended design length because the temperature will drop off as you go farther back.

I've only heard that you cannot do anything to splice into the wiring because it will affect the reading too much. Rather than deal with that, I'd cap the bung and have another installed within reach.
