Turbo drain on 24v swapped E30.

    Hi Guys,

Can someone with a turboed 24v show me where I should drill my oil pan? Ill be running a top mount Good and Tight manifold.

I am in the middle of my swap, and would like to tap my pan before I install it on the engine. (for obvious reasons)

Did you use a NPT or welded, or bulkhead fitting? Do we need a 90 degree fitting, or will 45 work?

    Just looking for some opinions.

    Thanks!

Sweet! What size did you end up going -10 or -12? Does it look like the 45 degree fitting will work where your drain is positioned? Is your fitting just pipe tapped?

      Thanks!

i got a vibrant kit from summit.

its high quality, all -10an. Theres a straight down at the turbo and a 45 at the oil pan. It comes with an aluminum and stainless bungs. Im going to weld mine above the drain plug, as high as i can and still get a good weld. You will have to shave some cooling fins down

I did mine 2 spaces forward from that. ground the fins down and had it welded there. I think its a better spot since it will be located closer to directly below the turbo.

So your 2 spaces forward from over the drain plug? R U running the Good and Tight manifold?

I have no problem shaving fins.

Thanks Guys for the help! Cant wait to get this build going!

Was the 12" included hose long enough?

Ha. Good timing. No it wasnt for a top mount manifold..... needed like 3 more inches. I JUST did it.
