harness, 413ecu, obd1manifold, accessories could easily be sold for over 4-500 on ebay.
my personal advice....buy the most inclusive package you can. yes, you can get a crappy m50 for 200, but then you spend 500 for all the accessories....and still have a crappy m50.
jeezus. ballpark 1200 dollars, thats the more realistic price.
When are you THR guys gonna come to NC and pickup a couple of M50's from me?? I've got 3 complete engines, one has intake + harness, one has E34 pan but no intake or harness, one has harness but no intake or pan. No ECU's. I also have one that had an electrical fire- not sure what's good on it, but I would think the bottom end is good for sure.
Depends on if those 115k miles are granny miles or hard miles. That'll tell the truth about the engine's condition.
Our auto '89 325i has 200k miles on it as of this past week and runs better than any M20 I've ever seen, including freshly rebuilt ones. I changed the plugs a couple weeks ago and they were perfect.
In contrast, I've seen M20s and M42s with 60-70k miles on them that were total trash, just because they had been beat to shit.
Luckily I got the best of both worlds with my new engine. ~60kish miles, not driven very hard at all. :-D
"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

what about a non vanos, whats the most for one in good shape with all accessories/wiring/computer
Those usually have high mileage, so can be cheaper. But if you are looking for a low mileage one, they can be hard to find. Expect to pay $400.00-700.00
Mileage is the huge factor in pricing.
Get one out of an auto 525i. Thats what I pulled mine from. Motor is mint, and well maintained. I imagined it was driven by a person who did not beat the snot out of it and had the money to properly maintain the vehicle.
I also saw the vehicle it was pulled from. Very clean and oil change window sticker and mileage were up to date.
