Shoot... I hope I got mine right. I remember I couldn't find the torque spec on it, but I don't remember what I torqued it to. I think it was around 10 Nm or possibly higher. Hopefully not too terribly much higher.
If it didn't break off, you are fine. In a case like this, the torque spec is there purely so you don't break anything. Most mechanics would tighten something like this by hand without a torque wrench because as long as it is tight, it is tight enough.
Stretch bolts or a pattern of bolts (like wheel lugs) and a few other random fasteners are really the only thing that NEEDS a torque wrench. Important bolts, like flywheel bolts, that have a higher torque rating also need a torque wrench just so you know you got them tight enough.
Understood. I just figured that this gasket was pretty critical. I didnt want over tightening to warp the gasket or something. I'm not sure. I just didnt want it to leak and cause me to lose some oil pressure. I think its fine though. Thanks!
