    Dme/ews alignment

Does anyone know if after replacing a red 413 dme, do I need to re-align dme to ews? Thanks.

    Your E30 doesn't have EWS.

So the car is far from perfect still and I believe some is due to the ews. I got the car to start by unplugging the ews and plugging it in again. The car will generally start immediately after doing that. I am running a red label 413 dme and don't really understand why unplugging the ews seen in the picture above and plugging back in will allow the car to start. When leaving ews unplugged, no crank no start. Any ideas? And is that an ews 1 or 2? Can't seem to find it online. Thanks everyone

Red label 413 dme does not have ews, but if the harness is from an m50/obd1 car it should be ews1, you may need to jumper some cables that go to that ews box.

What do you mean by jumper some cables to it?
