    they will not allow the heater core to get hot water above 3k rpm.....but will not cause an overheat situation.

    the stock thermostat is the 88deg one. i like the 80deg, keeps the car cooler, car runs a little richer. however, emissions will probabily be an issue.

    if only one hose is getting warm.... then its air bubles, stuck or bad thermostat, or clogged radiator, or poor performing waterpump (broken plastic impellers.)

      Yeah this thread is from last year. Aeryk7 finally figured out his problem. I saw one of his later posts and it seemed like he figured it out.

      It probably had to do with bleeding. Full heat, crack bleed screw, open rad cap, rev at 3k until you stop seeing bubbles. That's the only way you're gonna get a bled system with the M42 radiator.

        one way to help bleed the system, the method we use at work, is to drill a small hole in the thermostat prior to install.

            i was able to bleed mine by pumping the upper and lower hoses until the air bubbles went out the bleed cap, and i have the 318is radiator
