No spark no fuel with a twist

FIXED, too much air gap on crank sensor

    1990 325is '94 or '95 E36 auto harness

Sooooooo. I have an M54B30 in my E30 which refuses to run. Disregard the fact its an M54 and think of it as a little ole M50 because I converted it to OBD1. The intake, knock sensors, icv, all vacuum lines, crank and cam sensor are from an M50.

The harness is from a automatic E36. This is where it gets a little interesting. The harness is from my friends E36 WHICH HAD A RUNNING M54 IN IT although we are not using the same engine our setups are IDENTICAL. He ran this harness with his M54 in two different E36 chassis with no problem.

Here are the facts: I hear the dme relay click and the icv buzzing. The fuel pump and o2 sensor relays only come on if I ground them out and or jumper the pins. I have 598 ohms at the crank sensor. I have power at each coil pack and injector. I have the injector ground to the vanos, ground from passenger engine arm to chassis and ground to shock tower.

I have the brown black wire from auto harness to 12v and i have TWO different red label 413 ecu's. I also have an e34 harness but that gave me issues too. Any ideas?

          Do you have:

          Spark
          Fuel

Test for fuel by spraying starter fluid in the intake manifold; cars will run and idle on starter fluid happily.

Not really sure what your asking? But if your asking about the timing wheel on the crank then no its not off because the wheel was never removed.

I tried starting fluid weeks ago, it stumbled for 3 seconds then died. But when i pulled one of the coils and tried to ground it while cranking with a screw driver and I didn't see spark. And I still can't get the fuel pump and o2 heater relay to ground out. The crank sensor is good so im not sure why the ecu doesn't see a signal.

What are you doing for a crank sensor? The factory front pulley doesn't have teeth

How was the harness spliced? Solder? Crimp? Possible a connection came loose moving it around motors?
