I just swapped my 1984 318i m10 with a m50b25tu. It starts up and runs however it has an idle of 2200 rpm. If I bearly touch the gas it revs up to 3-4k rpm and sits there even if my foot is off the pedal. I thought it was the tps maybe but it ohms out fine. I know the high idle is generally from a vacuum leak but I am mainly trying to figure out this throttle problem. Using an e34 cable.

Try a new or different tps anyways. Mine did the same thing and ohm'ed within spec. It sounds like your cable could be binding or you have a large vacuum leak around the icv.91 318is M50 swapped
