Did you shave the oil pan? Also, you need to have the constant power, switched power, and the ground to the starter. Check the leads for cracks. Take the starter out and apply 12volts, and see if you can get the starter to spin and move outwards.
Also, make sure your starter is actually in there right. If you have a big case starter, you need to modify the block slightly.

yep, shaved the oil pan, motor turns over by hand perfectly. yea seems that i do have constant, switched and ground to the starter, it does work on a bench test and it lines up perfect. im working on it saturday, im just gonna take the clutch and starter off and install everything again making sure its perfect, i cant think of anything else to try,

try to turn it over with the gearbox off the car so you can see if the starter engages with the flywheel. I can't think of anything that would prevent you from turning it over without the trans bolted up, but I'm probably off on that one

How do you know if you have a big case starter?

i still dont know. the only thing i changed was i put in one block to bellhousing dowel, the other side didnt fit, so im only rocking that one. other than that i meticulously put everything back together after much measuring and inspecting along the way. and as soon as i went to start it first key turn primed the fuel, second key turn started right up and idle perfectly. so relieved and excited to drive it, should be done mid week.
