All that said, if I were buying today, I would go S54.
I agree with the sound, makes a person a warm and fuzzy inside and those itbs are extremely sexy.what is the brewing issue? Ive never read or heard of it. Def agree with the electronic side of the s54 but now I would def go that route based on price FINALLY, and part avaibility and shipping.
hell idk sometimes you just have to wing it. JW

Has the cost gone down on install for the s54? Haven't seen many threads of people starting swaps in 2014.

That's just a simple switch. All it does make the throttle oversensitive anyway.

The best option would be to go on euro S50 route based on the engine prices in Malaysia (S54 is expensive than a S50, almost double if I’m not mistaken).

There would be hardly any mechanic who would undertake the conversion be it euro S50 or the S54 due to the amount of work involve and lack of experience, unless, of course, the car owner provide them with all the extra things needed for the conversion such as the conversion ready wire harness, parts list…ect.
I personally know few places in PJ where they have done the S52 conversions on e30 but haven't seen any S50/S54 conversions.

(I lived in both US and Malaysia on and off and travel back and forth quite frequently – currently residing in Malaysia).

                        I do own a S52 powered e30.

Off topic: R u the one who is selling e30 Hartge cabriolet in BMW Malaysia forum?
