Differntial problem concerning my new m50 swap

So I just got the car, and it formally had a 4 cylinder engine on it with a 4.1 open differntial. You know since I just got the car, I've been stepping on the gas and redlining but all of a sudden I hear gear whine in 1st gear and whine throughout the higher rpms. Also, I get a loud click everytime I step on the gas. Do I need to change it?

I'll disagree....... 168's are good with mild abuse up to 230-ish. If you're bustin it before then, then you've been neglecting the case and something other than simple "too much power" is/was the root of your trouble.

Have you checked your transmission / differential fluids?

Perhaps put a piece of cardboard under the car when u park and see if anything is leaking; If you are low on fluid for either it will be whiny
