How many of you have your e30s50/52 running perfectly?

Do you know where they were rubbing? I'm guessing that they bolt up to the stock e36 center section? 02 sensor bung? Did you guys notice any power gains?

One of the downpipes barely touches the subframe...nothing a single washer can't fix though. There are built-in O2 sensor screws on each header, but I have it so the O2 is in a single pipe where both headers come together.

The second link is the set I bought, it's a bitch to get them in place; but like Devon said, it was all because of my a/c line. Power gains...yes, but probably only because I had the cast iron manifolds on prior.

And, uh, S50'd E30s kick ass, especially with stock-suspension and open 4.10 gears. Just got the 3.73LSD in this week and the power is finally somewhat usable(read:powerslides) in the first 2 gears, on dry pavement at least.

To answer the thread starter's question- yes, an e30 with an s50 transplant with stock interior except for maybe a smaller diameter steering wheel, a short shifter, and modest suspension upgrades feels 10x better than ANY stock non-m e30. We have a few regulars at the shop with <30k mile garage-queen e30s in immaculate condition, and I'm always blown away by how clunky and rough they feel compared to my car. The 24v motors really are lightyears ahead of the m20.

And with the right parts, the engine bay of a 24v e30 looks 10 times better than it does with the original hunk of crap in there.

mine looks decent and runs great but its really rich and im down on power. i cant feel the vanos come on and on the dyno im running 10 a/f ratio. i know theres another 30hp to be had but i havent had time to do anything with it. until i dyno'd it i thought it was awesome. but i only put down 225 rwhp. i suspect i should be at 250 with my mods.
