    S50 Exhaust Questions!

Just bought an S50 and I don't know exactly what I want to do exhaust wise. I am 17 so money is relatively tight. I plan on doing raceland headers I think. Is there a better header I am missing out on for about the same price range? I was also thinking to do a muffler delete and just doing some Ar20 resonators. Not positive yet and open to some suggestions from some more knowledgable people than me. I am looking for a low tone with little rasp. Want it to be loud so I don't even need my radio. But that being said I don't want it to be ridiculous. Thanks!!!

If you're trying to save money, use standard OBD 2 manifolds and get an exhaust off of a junkyard e30. hammer/weld where needed.
S50 is quite raspy, i would stick to a muffler...

I said relatively tight I didn't say I had no money at all.. I have an e30 with an m20 right now. Don't know why I'd go to the junkyard to pull and exhaust off of that?

You didn't say what you had so we have to assume. You can usually find OBDII manifolds cheap and they flow well. Weld up the sap ports or get block off plates for the ports and run them.

Borla Pro xs can be had for around $80 new on ebay. Combine that with some exhaust pipe from summit racing including a few mandrel bends and you have the hardware needed for a decent exhaust and it's fairly cheap. Not super loud either.

I have racelands. Don't waster your $$. I bought OBD II manifolds to replace them

I bought a set of ebay headers. My car has a cat and an 18" glasspack resonator in the mid pipe. This is the key to no rasp. Mine is not loud because I have a pretty large muffler but a smaller one would be louder.

What I think you should do is ebay headers, 18" glass pack, and a small rear muffler of some kind.

Stupid question: I have a set of Raceland long headers sitting in my garage. What's supposed to mate to the flange? I imagine its for a stock e36 exhaust, where can I find the matching flanges?
Anybody ever put v band clamps or a different flange on, possibly reworked them to help clear CABs?

if you're still looking, i have my old vibrant muffler off the track car still.

single 2.5" in and 3.5" dual outs. sounded awesome with just itself.

i'll need something bigger for the LS1 and the daily already has an e36 borla system on it. $50 and it's yours.

I did exactly this, except with a set of ebay long tubes. I cut them right at the collectors and added V-bands. I also ended up heating them and bending them to give me clearance with the sub frame, sway bar, firewall, and CAB.
