    No Fuel, and driveshaft problems

So I tried to start my m50 for the first time and I'm not getting any fuel or any current at the pump. I've checked the relay, fuse and made sure the violet and whatever color is connected. The car did sit for a year with a blown engine so it might not be swap related. Any ideas on what it might be? On a side note I tried to connect my e36 325i driveshaft and found it to be about 3" to short, so ether the 325i shaft will not work or I have an auto driveshaft, does anyone know if the manuel unit is longer? Thanks again

Yes the manual driveshaft is longer. Is there a part number?

Are you the guy using the Getrag 240?

Probably your fuel pump pull the thing out. If it sat for a year it is all gummed up you might be able to get the pump to work again by shooting some spray lube into the botom of the motor and try turning the blade carefully with a pocket screw driver. Ask me how i know i went through a brand new one already also fill the tank with new gas.

Oh yeah check for power at the pump with a test light . Relays need to be in the right spots make sure your ecu is properly grounded along with make sure your engine ground strap is secured.

Mine wasn't working until I connected the Grn/Vio and Grn/Wht from E30 to the Grn/Vio on the E36 harness.

I'd start with replacing your fuel filter. Then make sure your relay is fine before you replace your pump. I would put money on it being the filter though.

Yea, my dad jumped to the fuel pump in his E34, ended up being a relay or something? Either way - start with the cheap stuff - relays and whatnot.

A local guy who used the 240 (has a late model 318i 5sp) said he shortened his driveshaft 2 inches when he did his M50 swap, he must have taken it somewhere to get it shortened and balanced.

And agreed go with the cheap stuff first.
