    M52 swap

    I can get an engine out of a 528i. Is that gonna be the same as a 328i? And what Ecu can I use?

    Same engine, though I believe there are some subtle differences in the engine harnesses. For OBDII you'll need an MS41.1 ECU.

      Yep, the harness is different. The 5-series harnesses are shorter I believe which makes placement of the DME a little more challenging. The upside is that the 5-series harness is wired for the oil level sensor (the 3-series harness isn't).

        E39 harness isnt feasable to use. Has sepearate diag port wired through body harness...
