    rod bearing question

    ok i have called bavarian and the gave me the size for the main bearing, but cant find the size for the rod bearings so ill try the boards. for a bmw id # i have

    any one know if its standard or oversize?

    the easiest way to tell is to look at the color coded dots on your crank, the bearings are sold color coded to your crank.

    is this an M20/M50? if so there are only 2 sizes, red and blue. check realoem.com for the specs. all BMW bearings are the same btw, from the earliest M20 to the S50..

      its a m50 with a s50 crank. thats why i want to make sure which goes in. thnaks ill try the link

        it's all the same; look for the paint marks on the crank and match them with the bearing sizes.

            mine were on the counter weights.. should be fairly obvious paint dots, but they might be covered in grime by now.
